The CTFC occupies a stand at Design Indaba every year.

In 2010 the CTFC provided stands for designers who had been selected for the council’s Fashion for Business programme.

The CTFC and Design Indaba are working together to further improve the fashion section of Design Indaba. In 2010 the CTFC supported and helped with the curation of the Emerging Creatives aspect of the Expo. For 2011 the CTFC will host an umbrella stand and offer eight designers the opportunity to showcase their labels as part of its stand, an opportunity which also entitles designers to showcase their collections as ramp shows at the Expo. The CTFC will once again help with the curation of the Emerging Creatives section of the 2011 Design Indaba Expo.

DESIGN INDABA FACTS AND FIGURES

The Design Indaba Expo showcased more than 280 exhibitors, including 80 first-time exhibitors and 40 Emerging Creatives in 2010. The event attracted more than 35 000 visitors including 379 journalists and 427 buyers of which one third were international visitors.
